Michigan city is also known as Washington Park Zoo. It is the treasure of Northwest Indiana. The zoo, located on the south shore of Lake Michigan since 1928, is spread over 9 acres.
Michigan started as a sanctuary and continues to welcome needy wildlife. Several animals that call the zoo home are pets that are overly wild or have been illegally confiscated, and others have received injuries that make their existence in the wild terrible.
What To Do at Michigan City Zoo:
For the whole family entertainment, the zoo offers three categories of programs. First for kids/youth, second for adults, and third for seniors.
- Kids/Youth Program: This program includes several fun activities for kids and youngsters such as city kids’ day camp, youth programs, soccer club, piranhas swim club, golf, etc.
- Adults Program: The adult category has some exciting games for adults, like softball league, beach volleyball league, and volleyball league.
- Seniors Program: It sounds great. For seniors, the zoo offers line dancing.This program is for all ages.

Its entrance price is only $ 6.50 for an adult. Visitors are not allowed to get so close to animals in a big zoo, like taking a step back in time.
