The Salisbury Zoo in Salisbury, Maryland, was started in 1954 when some of the animals were on permanent display in City Park. The zoo’s current appearance results from advancements made in the 1970s. It now offers natural walls for species living in Central, North, and South America.

Salisbury zoo is funded in part by the City of Salisbury and the Salisbury Zoo Commission. The Zoo is recognized by the Zoo and Aquarium Association, and the Salisbury Zoo Commission maintains its policy. The ramped boardwalks and paved walkways at the Salisbury Zoo make the zoo very accessible.
